Michael Chandler, popularly known as “Iron Mike,” is a mixed martial arts fighter who currently competes in the lightweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

Outstanding college adventure

His first steps were as a member of the wrestling team at the University of Missouri.

Representing that institution, he qualified four times for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and achieved 100 victories in his college career, while also placing fifth in NCAA Division 1.

His fighting ability and desire to become more competitive led him to take up mixed martial arts MMA.

After several months of arduous training sessions, Chandler finally made his debut as a Bellator gladiator in August 2009 and from then on began to forge an outstanding career that sparked the UFC’s interest in adding him to their ranks.

Dream debut in the UFC

“Iron Mike”, made his debut in the company directed by Dan White at UFC 257 and did it in a big way as he defeated Dan Hooker, which meant the payment of $253,500.

Currently, the Nashville, Tenn. native’s record includes 23 fights to seven losses, which translates to a net worth that, according to financial experts, translates to $2 million.

Outside the octagon, Chandler closed a cryptocurrency endorsement deal from a company called CoinLion.

Also, the fighter is sponsored by whey protein brand Dymatize Protein.

On the personal front, Michael Chandler is a family man who since 2014 has been married to Brie Willett, a lady with whom he established much of his romance by emailing her for almost two years. Currently, they both chose to adopt a child named Hap Whitaker.
