According to a report by The Information on Wednesday, Amazon (NASDAQ:) is planning a stand-alone app to watch sports content.

Citing a source with direct knowledge of the matter, the report states Amazon CEO Andy Jassy has doubled down on the business’ streaming ambitions. He recently pointed to live sports streaming as an area the company would like to keep spending, even as Amazon increases its efforts to cut costs. He described live sports as “a unique asset.”

Amazon already has some streaming rights, such as some Premier League matches and NFL’s Thursday Night Football franchise, which are included in its standard Prime membership.

However, the company is said to believe the new app would better highlight its sports content offerings and declutter its current Prime Video app.

The Information said it isn’t yet clear if and when the e-commerce and overall tech giant would launch the app or whether it would charge for the sports content separately.

Amazon isn’t the only company looking to up its live sports streaming offering, with both Google and Apple making moves in the market this year.
