Blockasset, a non-fungible token (NFT) platform-specific to sports, is set to include boxing legend Muhammad Ali on its forthcoming NFT drop, Finance Magnates has learned exclusively. During an interview with Ryan Wilkinson, Head of Product at Blockasset, Ali (previously known as Cassius Clay) is the fifth star of the ‘LeGENds’ collection.

“The NFTs were officially verified by Ali’s executor and will capture different moments of the icon’s career, including some of his most memorable fights against Sonny Liston, Floyd Patterson, Ernie Terrell, Joe Frazier, George Foreman, and Ken Norton,” Wilkinson told Finance Magnates. That said, the boxing legend will join football superstar Wayne Rooney and MMA fighter Michael Bisping in the NFT drop.

Moreover, Wilkinson gave more details about what’s coming up in the ‘LeGENds’ collection where sports athletes are featured. “For one, LeGENds NFT holders get access to an exclusive ‘Legends Club’ where they can chat with Blockasset athletes, take part in athletes’ AMAs, and even compete against them in fantasy sports leagues. Besides that, they get discounts on the Blockasset marketplace, priority access to upcoming P2E games, and ‘on this day’ real-world rewards, where Blockasset celebrates key moments from the LeGENds’ careers. Those collectors holding all 5 LeGENds NFTs will also gain early access to all our future NFT drops,” he commented.

Details on ‘LeGENds’ Collection

To complete the 10,000 NFTs of the campaign, there will be 2,000 NFTs per athlete, Wilkinson told Finance Magnates. Although the minting date hasn’t been announced yet, the collection is scheduled to drop on November 4 via Raydium DropZone. Dosbrak, a renowned digital artist who has worked with several famous athletes like Mike Tyson and personalities like Joe Rogan, created the artwork for the NFTs.

In October, Finance Magnates also exclusively reported the partnership Blockasset with well-known digital artist Dosbrak for the ‘LeGENds’ collection. In addition, NFT marketplaces have also been launched by many established crypto platforms, including Coinbase and Binance.
