Joseph Maldonado-Passage, Joe Exotic, was recently transferred from his prison medical center at FMC Fort Worth to FMC Butner. Exotic has over 2 decades remaining on his sentence but there is hope of reduced prison term as a result of an appellate court victory. The U.S. 10th District Court of Appeals ordered Exotic to be resentenced following his conviction in the murder-for-hire plot of Big Cat Rescue’s Carole Baskin.

As reported here earlier, Exotic gave permission to lend his name to $TKING, a Meme Coin, which derives its value from its very existence (think Dogecoin). The tokens grow in popularity as does their value based purely on their potential as coins. According to Exotic’s attorney, Brad Small, Exotic was given $30,000 worth of $TKING to support his legal legal l,and medical expenses. That amount has now grown to over $400,000 since the Cryptocurrency started trading a few months ago. “Exotic’s name recognition is just part of the strategy,” Small told me in an interview, “this could be something really special in the space as we are in the early stages of development of a game platform featuring other A-list celebrities who want to be a part of this emerging technology/currency.”

I also spoke with CryptoAmish, a contact I got through Small. As many in crypto do, the name used is a handle to ensure privacy.

Tiger King has both the fan/celebrity/meme coin aspect and a solid offering of decentralized finance applications (dApps). From the celebrity and meme standpoint, most of the US already knows the story of Exotic. CryptoAmish told me, “What the public saw last year was a highly edited and biased view. What everyone thinks they know may turn out not to be the case, and it is our conviction that at the end of the series, viewers will understand that Joe got a raw deal.”

In August, the token was upgraded and relaunched as a simple swap contract to make it more accessible for exchanges and as a utility/payment token. Joe’s trust was allocated a 1% supply during that relaunch, providing significantly more funds for his legal and medical expenses. The tokens are held in trust by the coin team, and they work with Exotic’s legal team to provide funding when needed in a way that serves both his interests without harming the overall chart prices. For instance, we recently provided a significant amount of funding for the evidence-uncovering work John Phillips, Exotic’s criminal attorney, is doing. CryptoAmish told me, “We’ve heard Netflix is releasing another series of Tiger King and they would be crazy not to have the camera’s rolling with the information Phillips is about to uncover.”

CryptoAmish said that early in the coin’s life, news came out that Season 2 of Tiger King would be released sometime around the end of the year or early in 2022. The team also realized that it was a one-time catalyzing event for the coin, not something that would provide sustainable value. By that time, the group of moderators, admins, and developers had coalesced into a solid and supportive group. CryptoAmish said, “We created a think tank/brainstorming space that resulted in product concepts that no one else in Crypto was tackling effectively.” What were they brainstorming about?

Their apps were created initially as separate concepts. As the team manifested the ideas into their application frameworks, they discovered an interconnectedness that pulls them into a single ecosystem.  This led to the development of a game based off of the tokens called TigerForces: Into the Wild!.

Into The Wild! is an augmented reality game constructing the intersection between crypto gaming, geocaching, and the celebrity engagement/sponsorship force that has yet to make significant inroads into Crypto. According to Small, the $TKING team is in discussions with multiple A-list celebrities, musical groups, and other artists to lend their voices in support of Exotic and this project. CryptoAmish said that the team will be developing in-app personas and prizes for the game. Those could include NFTs, media of various types, and real-world scavenger hunts for actual tangible goods.

ChainChat is $TKING’s wallet-to-wallet messaging app. Originally conceptually designed as a simple way of sending messages, the big breakthrough came as the team began to brainstorm use cases. They realized that one key scenario was to message someone who holds an NFT and to negotiate a sale price. But what then? CryptoAmish said that they could develop an escrow service right into the app that would allow buyers and sellers to negotiate a price for tokens or NFTs, and complete the entire transaction cycle within a single application.

To completely round out the experience, we’re taking it a step further and integrating some aspects of another of our applications, EtherLift, which will be a marketplace for advertising tokens or NFTs by potential sellers. In addition, EtherLift will be an on-ramp for significant advertisers to gain direct access to Crypto traders by helping to sponsor gas fee rebates in exchange for ad views.

And finally, Tiger Tracks will be built out as a graphical blockchain browser. It will offer the ability to click and visualize the interconnections between wallets graphically – allowing blockchain sleuths the ability to track and trace transactions between wallets to see the flow of tokens. Additionally, the user will be able to tag wallets with notes or add them to a queue as they browse along with all or some of the tokens in those wallets and then export that out to a file. This tagging and exporting function would be helpful for those from jurisdictions where crypto proceeds are taxed and fills the need to track transactions for tax filings. 

CryptoAmish told me, “Any one of these applications and either of the scenarios (meme or utility) would be enough to build a solid token project. Combining them all into a single package makes Tiger King Coin the best-valued gem on the market, in my opinion.”
