The event with Generation Zoe marked a before and after on how pyramid scams are promoted with cryptocurrencies on Argentina, especially considering that many investors were cheated with profits above 7.5% per month if they deposited large sums of money. Now, another cryptocurrency, and therefore another company, is being accused of fraud by the same experts who unmasked the maneuvers of Leonardo Cositorto and his associates. Unlike this one, Oops Coin is being advertised by tens from Famousamong them, Marcelo Tinelli and Susana Giménez.
The crypto was launched by the company Vayo Business, promoted as a firm that offers financial solutions to its clients with the promise of multiplying their savings. To co-opt people, they mention the high inflation in the country and the risk that saved Argentine pesos will quickly devalue. “Vayo Buisness allows the investor to choose the investment time that varies from 30 days to 240 days, The longer the investment time, the higher the return obtained.”, explains one of the company’s brochures.
Then, they mention the profitability that is obtained if the investor keeps his money in the company ($5,000 minimum). If it is decided to opt for the shortest return period (30 days), the client obtains 6% monthly; if you choose the largest (240 days), 15%. However, there are flyers that offer up to 10% monthly, much more than what Cositorto advertised. What is striking about this too, and which is also the first alarm, is that crypto can be obtained through WhatsApp instead of virtual platforms that offer security.
What are the alarms?
Now, the alarms are turned on again when the founders of the company are investigated. “Vayo Business is SA created in Nov. 2011. The shareholders are Ana María Lavitola (95%) and Matías Ezequiel Mansilla (5%). Both declare their domicile in Comodoro Rivadavia and just googling the name of the majority shareholder triggers the alert”, mentions a Twitter user who is an expert on the subject. “The woman’s son, Leandro Usín, was sentenced by the Buenos Aires Justice to 3 years in prison for 15 fraud acts and in 2018 an investigation began in the Chubut Justice that the local media called ‘The great Gaiman scam’. Proud cositorto”.
The company is not only not registered with the National Securities Commission (CNV) but, in its AFIP name, they appear as sellers of household appliances and technological products. Economist Luciano Muth (who deleted the tweets due to alleged tightening of several companies, according to specialists Javier Smaldon and Osvaldo “Beto” Mendeleev), indicated: “Unlike Zoe. Here there is much more deliberation in the armed of the scam. There are resources to pay the most famous people in the country, people with authority, anything they promote has weight. His morality does not matter, here there is harm to society and he will be denounced before the CNV ».
It is suspected that it is a Ponzi scheme because, although for any crypto it is necessary to invest, unlike this, a process is started in which the profits obtained by the first investors are generated thanks to the money contributed by themselves or by other new investors. who are deceived by the promises of obtaining, in some cases, great profits.
The list of celebrities involved is exhaustive, as there are more than 100 who have made videos and collaborated with Vayo. Yanina Latorre, Marcelo Tinelli, Candelaria Tinelli, Federico Bal, Jimena Barón, Georgina Barbarrosa, Florencia Peña, Sol Pérez, among others, are the ones who, at least once, have sponsored cryptocurrency in their networks, almost repeating the same concept: “ If you don’t know what to invest your money in”, “Vayo Buisness strives for you to invest safely”, “If you go on my side, you have benefits”, among other phrases.
It is not the first time that influencers and celebrities with millions of followers on the networks promote companies accused of fraud. An emblematic case was Nuskin, a cosmetics firm. However, not only were its products highly questioned by specialists, such as the influencer and cosmetologist Daniela “Dadatina” López, but the true sense of profitability lay in including more people in the business. For this reason, several famous people created secondary accounts or referred their followers to other accounts, to start conversations with someone else.
