Cryptocurrency trading platform Tap Global Group PLC (AQSE:TAP), formerly called Quetzal Capital, has raised £3.1mln in an initial public offering (IPO) via the admission of trading on the Access Segment of the AQSE market under the TAP ticker symbol.

The admission makes Tap Global Group the first cryptocurrency exchange provider to list in the UK, with proceeds of the IPO intended to be used for increased marketing spend and international expansion.

Thor Explorations Ltd (TSX-V:THX, AIM:THX, OTC:THXPF) said a strong fourth-quarter performance at its Segilola Gold Project in Nigeria resulted in an excellent first full calendar year of operations as a gold producer, with production coming in at the top end of its guidance. 

In an operational update for Segilola, as well as the company’s other mineral exploration properties in Nigeria, Senegal and Burkina Faso, Thor said it achieved production of 26,331 ounces of gold at an average grade of 3.51 grams per tonne in the three months to December 31, 2022, taking full-year output to 98,006 ounces.

Video games were the biggest-selling UK home entertainment category last year, though video streaming is rapidly catching up and music sales reached their highest in two decades.

Helped by growth in video and games streaming, and the renaissance of vinyl records, UK entertainment sales have grown nearly 40% since 2019, reaching £11.1bn in 2022.

Guild Esports PLC (LSE:GILD, OTCQB:GULDF) said it has strengthened its senior leadership with three key hires as the global teams organisation and lifestyle brand gears up for the next stage of growth.

MGC Pharmaceuticals Ltd (LSE:MXC, OTC:MGCLF, ASX:MXC) hailed as an “important milestone” the successful completion of pre-clinical rodent studies on CimetrA, its plant-based anti-inflammatory.

MGC described it as a “key step” in the pathway towards Investigational New Drug (IND) approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which in turn would provide the green light for clinical trials.

Caracal Gold PLC (LSE:GCAT) has announced that a previously agreed pre-paid gold purchase agreement will now no longer be implemented.

The company cited an unfulfilled condition precedent to the agreement related to the mining licence for its Kilimapesa gold mine in Kenya.

IQ-AI Ltd (LSE:IQAI, OTCQB:IQAIF), a developer and manufacturer of medical image processing platforms, said significant progress was being made with the phase I clinical trial of its gallium maltolate (GaM) treatment for people with brain cancer.

In a letter to shareholders, it said the programme remained the company’s top priority, adding that screening and enrolment continued at an “outstanding pace” and follow-up visits are increasing as more subjects remain on the study.

KEFI Gold and Copper PLC (AIM:KEFI, OTC:KFFLF) has been awarded five additional exploration licenses through the company’s Gold and Minerals Limited (GMCO) joint venture in Saudi Arabia.  

GMCO is owned 30% by KEFI and 70% by its partner Abdul Rahman Saad Al Rashid and Sons Ltd.

Eden Research PLC (AIM:EDEN, OTCQB:EDNSF) said sales in the year just ended will be better than market forecasts, reflecting approvals for its sustainable pesticides in a growing number of countries.

Revenues for the year to end-December will be around £1.8mln or 50% higher than a year earlier and above against consensus estimates of £1.7mln.

Braveheart Investment Group PLC (AIM:BRH) updated investors on Tuesday on recent developments at investee companies Paraytec and Phasefocus.

Wholly owned Paraytec, which develops specialist detectors for the analytical and life sciences instrumentation markets, is expected to deliver initial test results for the first phase of the clinical study into its CX300 instrument in February, with full analysis now seen as likely to be in April.

Live Company Group PLC (AIM:LVCG) has signed a contract with Zoo Planckendael in Belgium for its Bricklive Safari events.

Safari animals will feature at the zoo, which is managed by the Antwerp Zoo Society, from 24 June to 10 September this year.

Recce Pharmaceuticals Ltd (ASX:RCE, OTC:RECEF) has been issued a notification of intention to grant from the Australian Patent Office for its patent Family 3 ‘Anti-Virus Agent and Method for Treatment of Viral Infection’.

This is the final patent of Family 3, following those already granted in the biggest pharmaceutical markets in the world such as China, Japan, Europe and Hong Kong.

AfriTin Mining Ltd (AIM:ATM, OTC:AFTTF) confirmed plans to change its name to Andrada Mining Limited, effective 11 January 2023.

Metal Tiger PLC (AIM:MTR, OTC:MRTTF, ASX:MTR) told investors that its chief executive, Michael McNeilly, purchased 150,000 shares in the company in the market, at a price of 14p for a total consideration of £21,000.

Greatland Gold PLC (AIM:GGP, OTC:GRLGF) non-executive directors, Clive Latcham and Alex Borrelli, exercised options for gross aggregate consideration of £321,250. A total of 41.25mln new shares were issued. Latcham retained 3.15mln of resulting shares and sold 5.6mln to fund the exercise, whilst Borelli retained 13.3mln shares and sold 19.2mln of the new shares.
